Georgia Nicole Lange
The work of Georgia Nicole Lange is an exploration of the human subconscious from a feminine viewpoint. Through an emphasis on intricate detail, setting, and mood, her work examines the nature of childhood, girlish fantasy, sexuality, exposure, trauma, reconciliation, and identity. Greatly influenced by the stylistic methods found in German surrealism and Japanese animation, Georgia creates windows into other worlds where disorienting landscapes appear to grow out of the characters who inhabit them. We often find doe-eyed women staring back at us through curious expressions, invoking the sensation of having been privy to some unintentional discovery of the forbidden. There is a certain maturity here juxtaposed by an air of innocence, where the savage nestles itself against the sweet. All we can do is stand back, and wonder.
